Peek at My Bulletin Boards
For the longest time, I've clipped images from magazines and books that compelled me. Inspiration is everywhere and I love gathering colorful , artistic slivers. These items end up in my studio, tacked onto the expanse of bulletin boards that flank my walls. It is a reflection of my influences: my love of textiles, handmade oddities, photos of friends and family, inspirational quotes.
It is a colorful place, the walls of bulletin boards jammed with pictures and things I've collected and created. I am surrounded by favorite things, wrapped in my restorative space.
My studio is my safe haven, my place of comfort and renewal. It's located in a coverted garage behind our house, nestled in an old neighbourhood in Greensboro, NC.
The most insignificant imagery can trigger an idea for my art, and that often starts with the bulletin boards. I hope you enjoy these examples below. I also hope you find your own inspiration, and surround yourself with it.
