wearable art silk scarves
Judi Magier creates exuberant multi-colored fabrics, using vibrant colors, intricate patterns, shapes, and texture.
She begins each project in the form of a collage. Colored pieces of printed recycled magazine cut-outs are meticulously cut into small pieces and assembled on canvas to create a unique work of art. The completed paper collage is then photographed and digitally altered to create multiple variations and interpretations.
Finally, the design is transferred to a local, independent print studio and custom printed onto natural fabrics. All her products are hand-cut and sewn in her studio in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Judi was trained as a fashion and textile designer at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Ryerson University in Toronto, and the Rhode Island School of Design.
